  • There are three bedrooms, all three with queen beds, plus one room with a single daybed. So we can accommodate up to seven people.

  • The house has central heating and cooling, so you’ll be comfortable all year round.

  • We’ve been told by guests many times that they had everything they needed…and more!

    Your stay includes bedding, towels, basic toiletries, basic pantry supplies, tea/coffee/milk, fully equipped kitchen, NBN Internet, smart TV, board games, books, a bar cart with gin & port….even a record player and vintage vinyl.

  • We have a step in shower plus a deep, free standing bathtub ideal for soaking. We also have a laundry & washing machine.

  • Yes, we have a BBQ in the style of a mini Weber. We also have a covered deck with a six seater round table, in addition to our 8 seater dining table inside.

  • We love pets but are not able to accommodate them, as there’s a low fence and the house is on a relatively busy road.

  • The Botanist’s Retreat is centrally located to enjoy all that Castlemaine has to offer. The beautiful Botanical Gardens, a vibrant arts/food/vintage market complex, The Mill, is just around the corner.

    Castlemaine is a creative hub, with many festivals and events. The Royal Theatre offers a mix of films and live entertainment. There is a lovely art gallery, many fabulous cafes and restaurants, historical homes and buildings plus walking & bike trails around the area.

    Harcourt is 10 minutes up the road and Bendigo is 25 minutes away.

  • We’ve been hosting at The Botanist’s Retreat for almost two years, with most of the stays booked via Airbnb. If you want to read our many five star reviews (over 60!) please review our listing on Airbnb. You can book with us via Airbnb, or directly here on our website, avoiding the Aibnb fees.

  • The house is very centrally located, on the main road of Barker Street. As such, there is some road noise during the day.
